April 27th (MEGA at New Hythe)
Whilst walking to the Grasshopper site,I had a Hawfinch fly over (a personal first for New Hythe). Then at 10:20 at the Grasshopper site a PURPLE HERON came over from the west heading towards the Medway.
By the time I sorted the focus out (set up for the Warbler) it was a back end view).Luckily Jerry was at Bucket wood and watched it loose height and go down into Burham marsh.Where it was seen later in the day feeding along one of the ditches,in the meadow just north of Burham church.
